The Marine & Oceanic Sustainability Foundation is dedicated to the positive promotion of marine conservation and education efforts globally.
MOSF engages in market-driven, tourism centric programs that balance ocean health, human prosperity and emphasize marine stewardship. We establish geotourism and citizen science activities, which sustain or enhance the geographic well being of a destination, emphasize the culture and history of the area, and benefit both visitors and residents alike.
We are building global relationships and a grassroots network of individuals, organizations, and educators who are committed sharing ideas to keep our oceans healthy. MOSF was founded on the principal of collaboration and is focused on balancing responsible marine stewardship, socioeconomic demands, and available resources.
As Jacques Cousteau inspired us as children, we aim to inspire and teach future generations about marine life and how to preserve its wonder and beauty forever.
MOSF was founded on the concept of ACCESS, which stands for:
Awareness
Conservation
Collaboration
Education
Sustainability
Success
Awareness – By making people aware of what amazing and successful marine conservation and sustainability projects are being accomplished today, we can inspire others and show them ways to get involved to keep our oceans and marine habitats healthy.
Conservation – The protection and preservation of the oceans is one of our primary goals – this includes everything from restoring damaged ecosystems and protecting vulnerable marine species to teaching future generations how to appreciate and enjoy our oceans responsibly.
Collaboration – MOSF is dedicated to getting out and meeting with people actively involved in ocean research, conservation, and education. By documenting and sharing the work of these people, we will become a vital resource for people seeking marine conservation solutions globally.
Education – By working with children and young adults, we hope to share our passion for the ocean and inspire future generations to take an active role in helping to keep it healthy.
Sustainability – In order for projects to be truly sustainable, there must be a balance between environmental, social equity, and economic demands. MOSF believes this is both critical and attainable through scientific research and education.
Success – There are so many individuals and organizations working to keep our oceans clean and it’s inhabitants healthy. By researching, promoting, and championing successful marine sustainability efforts, we believe that we can perpetuate successful procedures and methods globally.
